- 1 cup brown rice
- 1/2 cup urad dal

Method
- Wash and soak the brown rice and urad dal separately for at least 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, grind the urad dal with fenugreek seeds to a smooth and fluffy consistency. Add water as required.
- Grind the brown rice to a slightly coarse consistency. Add water as required.
- Mix the urad dal batter and brown rice batter together. Add salt and mix well.
- Cover and let the batter ferment for 4-6 hours or overnight.
- Grease the idli molds with oil.
- Fill the molds with the fermented batter.
- Steam the idlis in an idli steamer or pressure cooker for 10-12 minutes.
- Once cooked, let the idlis cool for a few minutes before removing them from the molds.
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar.

- The fermentation time may vary depending on the temperature and humidity in your kitchen.
- If you don't have an idli steamer, you can use a pressure cooker without the whistle.
