Ingredient
For the burger:
1 pound beef or chicken, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups cooked rice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon mirin
1 teaspoon sugar
For the toppings:
Lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced onions
Sliced cheese

Method
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef or chicken, soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes. 2. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. 3. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated meat and cook until browned and cooked through. Add salt and pepper to taste. 4. In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Mix well and set aside. 5. Divide the cooked rice into 4 portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than the meat patties. 6. Heat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the rice patties until lightly browned and crispy. 7. In the same pan, melt the butter and add the meat patties. Cook until browned and cooked through. 8. To assemble the burger, place a rice patty on the bottom, followed by a lettuce leaf, a meat patty, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, sliced cheese, and a dollop of the sauce. Top with another rice patty. 9. Serve the yakiniku rice burger immediately.
Notes
